‘VH1 Storytellers’ Returns With Ed Sheeran

“VH1 Storytellers” is back and better than ever with live broadcasts for the first time in the series’ history. The 2015 season begins later this month with a show by Ed Sheeran.

The upcoming season will feature artists performing and sharing personal stories at venues that hold a special meaning.

Sheeran chose Whelans in Dublin, Ireland, for his Jan. 24 gig. The English singer/songwriter says he was inspired to purse music after seeing Damien Rice take the stage at the venue.

“It’s amazing to come back to perform at a place that means so much to me personally,” says Sheeran. “I was only about 11 or 12 years old when I saw Damien play at Whelan’s, and that night literally changed my life. The time he spent talking with me after the show made all the difference. It inspired me in a way that I only hope to do for someone else.”

A post on Sheeran’s website says that details about how to apply for tickets to the 18+ show will be announced soon. The performance will be broadcast at 7 p.m. EST/PST.

More artists booked for the new season of “VH1 Storytellers” will be announced soon. The series last aired in 2012.
