New York City’s Bowery Ballroom is where you’ll the year’s last 2015 gig by The Hold Steady, with the band headlining the Rock On Foundation’s second annual Alt Star party Feb. 13 to coincide with the NBA Allstar Game weekend. Tickets for the show went on sale today.  The performance will mark The Hold Steady’s 113 show in 13 months.

Following Feb. 13 the band and plans to throttle down and put the ol’ tour bus in the garage for the rest of the year.

What will members of The Hold Steady do with all that free time on their hands?  With tongues firmly placed within their cheeks, the band issued an announcement stating that frontman Craig Finn will become a captain’s apprentice on the Staten Island Ferry; bassist Galen Polivka will finish his studies to become a UN interpreter; guitarist Tab Kubler plans to attend Bob Bondurat’s stunt driving school, guitarist Steve Selvidge will form a Van Halen cover band, and drummer Bobby Drake will move to Mexico to “commence his Lucha Libre ascendancy.”

Or maybe they weren’t kidding.  After all, it is The Hold Steady.
