Cities, No Dates: Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Lady A

Tim McGraw unveiled the initial 30-city routing for his “Shotgun Rider Tour” today – but you’ll have to stay tuned for specific dates and venues. Dierks Bentley made a similar announcement with 40 cities on his list. Meanwhile, we’re still waiting on more details for Lady Antebellum’s tour.

All three tours are included as part of Live Nation’s 2015 Country MegaTicket.

Although Tim McGraw hasn’t announced specific dates on the “Shotgun Rider Tour,” he did reveal that the summer outing will begin sometime in June. As for venues, the only hint he’s given out is that “one of the biggest tours of the year” is headed to a combination of amphitheaters, arenas and festivals.

The country super star is supporting his 13th studio album, Sundown Heaven Town, which was released in September. Today he broke the news that his next single is “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools.” You’ll have to wait and see whether the tune makes the setlist.

“I love going through the process of making our set list and working on the production elements to bring the show to life,” said McGraw. “We just like to lay it all out there every night – sling sweat, have fun and help make some summertime memories for everyone who joins us.”

McGraw is bringing along Billy Currington on the road as his special guest. The tour will also feature Chase Bryant.

Here is the initial routing:

Dierks Bentley’s trek, dubbed “2015 Sounds Of Summer Tour,” also kicks off in June. The first stop is June 5 in Raleigh, N.C.

The outing features support from Kip Moore, Maddie & Tae, and Canaan Smith on select dates. To prep for the excursion, Bentley got his tourmates to participate in his annual Polar Plunge with a chilly January jump into Nashville’s Percy Priest Lake.

“There have been tours in my career that I thought would be impossible to top, and the past 12 months certainly rank as some of the best and most fun nights of my life,” Bentley said.

“I expect 2015 to beat all of it. I’ve really loved having three other artists out there with us … just more fun on and off the stage and knowing that the fans are getting more music for their money is important to me. Kip, Maddie & Tae and Canaan are three of the hottest rising artists out there right now, and I feel fortunate to be spending the summer with them. If our first ‘tour meeting’ is any indication, they are up for anything, which is awesome. No one is going to have more fun this summer than us!”

Last year the country singer released his seventh studio album, Riser.

Lady Antebellum revealed its list of cities last week but as of the time of this post we’re still waiting for the country trio to fill in the dates and venues. Missing details will be announced in the next few weeks because tickets for select markets go on sale later this month.

The North American leg of the “Wheels Up 2015 Tour” follows Lady Antebellum’s previously announced appearances on the County 2 Country Festival in Europe and a run of dates in Australia in March. The first U.S. stop is May 1 in Lubbock, Texas.

“The magic of being with fans from all over the country is really why we’re ultimately all here,” said Lady A’s Charles Kelley. “Being able to play off each other on that stage is honestly where we have the most fun, and I have a feeling the crowd will already be on their feet when we get out there after starting the night with Hunter and Sam!”
