Elvis Estate Endorses Australian Fest
Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. and Graceland struck a licensing deal with Australia’s Parkes Elvis Festival Jan. 8.
The event was set up 23 years ago in the hamlet of Parkes, NSW, to coincide with Presley’s birthday.
The 2015 event, Jan. 7-11, drew 18,000 to 150 Elvis-themed events – including an Elvis-themed wedding for 38 couples in the underground car park of Big W. Australians are in the top five foreign nationalities to visit Graceland, and second to the U.K. in officially registered Elvis fan clubs.
