Bowery Heads South
The Bowery Presents continues to spread beyond New York, having struck a partnership to open two adjacent businesses in Avondale, Ala. – Saturn, a music venue, and Satellite, a coffee shop and bar.
The promoter is teaming with Brian Teasley, a former promoter of Avondale’s Bottletree Café, to open a venue he says will attract nationally known acts before they’re national acts, according to the Birmingham News.
“I know how this should be done and how this shouldn’t be done,” Teasley told the paper. “We’re just kind of combining punk rock with a kind of European communal thing and put the southern hospitality on top.”
