Flogging Molly & Gogol Bordello Set Co-Headline Run
With venues ranging from the Meadow Brook Music Festival in Rochester, Minn., to the Stone Pony Lot in Asbury Park, N.J., the tour also includes special guest Mariachi El Bronx.
People not wanting the same old thing repackaged, reprocessed and rereleased will love this tour. On one side you have Flogging Molly’s eclectic mix of violin, mandolin and accordion helping to drive the band’s punk-rooted sound.
And then there’s Gogol Bordello , a band you can’t easily categorize. Founded by Ukrainian-born Eugene Hutz in 1999, the gypsy punk group is almost a musical United Nations in that the lineup includes bassist Thomas Gobena from Ethiopa, percussionist Pedro Erazo-Segovia from Ecuador, Russian violinist Sergey Ryabtsev and backing singer/dancer Elizabeth Sun who is from Hong Kong via Scotland.
