Photographer Alan Mayor Dies

Alan Mayor, 65, veteran music industry photographer, died at a nursing home in Clarksville, Tenn., Feb. 23.

Mayor, who had a liver transplant in 2007 and suffered a stroke in 2013, died of stroke-related dementia, according to the Tennessean.

Mayor was a go-to photographer of the Nashville music industry for 30 years and had a particularly close relationship with Garth Brooks.

Highlights in his portfolio range from shooting Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s wedding to capturing photos of Paul and Linda McCartney on stage with Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner.
