When a massive storm hit Melbourne Feb. 28 forcing the cancellation or delays of many festivals and concerts, Foo Fighters managed to play the Australian city when the 53,359-capacity Etihad Stadium closed its retractable roof. The Foo Fighters visit was booked through Frontier Touring.
He had to fly 15,000 kilometers back to Los Angeles to take one of his daughters to a school dance. Grohl returned to Perth in time, but had picked up food poisoning during the trip.
As he battled the illness during the show, audience members told him to have an alcoholic drink.
The singer quipped, “Next time you have food poisoning, I’m coming to your place to make you chug a beer.”
