Toby Gad tells KABC-TV that his wife discovered Monday that a safe in the home had been broken into.
He says the neighborhood has seen a string of recent burglaries.
Investigators say gold coins, cash and other undisclosed items were taken from the house, which is being renovated.
Police have not named a suspect.
Besides Beyoncé, Gad has written and produced hit songs for Madonna and Robin Thicke. He co-wrote the multi-platinum John Legend smash “All of Me.”
