No Love For Cup Tossers

Getting smacked mid-performance by an errant cup or bottle is never fun for a performer. But a fan at a recent Jason Aldean show thought he had a pretty good reason for tossing his cup.

Aldean was in the middle of performing at the  April 9 when he was hit in the head with a fan’s cup, according to the Wichita Eagle.

He stopped singing and pointed out the offender to security guards, before eventually finishing the song. “It took everything I had not to go kick that guy’s teeth in,” he reportedly said to the audience during a break in the show.

The man told security he was simply trying to share the news that a friend had gotten engaged during the show.

“The incident entails a person who had been drinking who had a cup of beer and wanted to get Jason Aldean’s attention to let him know that his friend, who was also at the concert, had just gotten engaged and he wanted Aldean to somehow acknowledge it on stage,” Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Capt. Dave Mattingly told the Eagle.

The man was escorted out of the building, and Aldean’s tour managers declined to press charges, Mattingly added.
