A Very Danzig Summer
Glenn Danzig & the gang are bringing along Pennywise and Cancer Bats as support. The outing includes gigs in Houston, Kansas City, Denver, Vancouver, Seattle and San Francisco. The last stop of the trip is Las Vegas July 31.
A Vimeo link for the “Danzig Legacy Special” will be available April 17 at 5 p.m. at the band’s website and Facebook page, as well as the official fansite, 7thhouse.com.
The “Danzig Legacy Special,” which was filmed in May 2012 in Glendale, Calif., was produced and directed by Mark Brooks, who’s behind Adult Swim’s “Metalocalypse.”
Glenn Danzig told Full Metal Jackie (via Blabbermouth) that the idea was to make a project “loosely based on the Elvis [Presley] ’68 Comeback special; it revisited a lot of his past and a lot of stuff. So we did that with the ‘Legacy’ TV show. It was performance pieces that I do, then there’s the band playing live, we do [songs from] Danzig, Samhain. Then for the Misfits thing, we did what Elvis did when he sat down with Scotty Moore and the Memphis Mafia and we just did them all right there live, sitting and everyone’s around us; there’s no backstage, we’re just on a little podium in from of everybody.”
