1980s Pop Star Named President Of Catholic School In Hawaii
Glenn Medeiros will start his new job July 1, the St. Louis School board of trustees announced Wednesday. Medeiros’ hit single, “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You,” was released in 1987. In 1990, he recorded “She Ain’t Worth It” with Bobby Brown.
Medeiros has a bachelor’s degree in history and humanities from the University of Hawaii’s West Oahu campus, a master’s degree in education from University of Phoenix and a doctorate degree in education from the University of Southern California.
The board said it selected Medeiros after an extensive search, Honolulu news station KHON-TV reported. He’s currently vice principal at Maryknoll High School in Honolulu.
“I am humbled for the opportunity to work with the excellent staff and faculty of St. Louis School as we strive to educate students in the Marianist philosophy, while developing them to be outstanding young men in the community,” he said.
A notable alumnus of the school is 2014 Heisman Trophy winner and University of Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.
A formal announcement and introductions was to be made to students at an assembly Thursday, News station Hawaii News Now reported.
