Populous To Design Bristol Arena

The architects that designed London’s  arena, the  and the Leeds’  have won the competition to design the new Bristol Arena in England.

Populous is also behind the designs for  in New York and London’s Wembley Stadium.

“The Populous team presented an innovative design. The new arena shone out as the best of five great designs and will sit comfortably on the Arena Island site next to Temple Meads and the Bath Road,” said city mayor George Ferguson.

The team brings together the expertise of entertainment and sports design firm Populous, award winning local architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, renowned international practice BuroHappold Engineering and sound specialists Vanguardia.

The Royal Institute of British Architects held a design competition for the 12,000-capacity venue.
