Carol Pollock Dies

Carol Pollock, 70, longtime venue director and IAVM member, died May 15 after suffering complications from pancreatic cancer. 

Pollock, an employee of VenuWorks, most recently served as executive director of  in Des Moines, Iowa, where she increased bookings by 75 percent, according to a statement. 

Pollock also worked the AT&T Center and Alamodome, and worked with the New Orleans Saints when Hurricane Katrina displaced them from New Orleans.

She began her career as the marketing director at the MetroCentre in Rockford, Ill., where she created the “On The Waterfront” music and food festival that attracted more than 400,000 people annually to downtown.
