Parnellis Honor Chris Lamb

The governing body of the Parnelli Awards have announced that its 2015 lifetime achievement award will go to road warrior Chris Lamb.

Lamb, along with Gerry Stickells, formed GLS Productions in 1978 and has spent decades doing shows for everyone from Roger Waters and Van Halen to Michael Jackson and J-Lo.

Along with Stickells and Rick “Parnelli” O’Brien, Lamb was behind most of Queen’s and Madonna’s tours, plus television concerts.

Lamb and Stickells were also essential components for the launch of Rock In Rio in 1985 as well as its second incarnation in 1991. He has done all of this while wearing his signature cowboy hat.

“Chris Lamb is one of the most respected, loved, and admired people in the live event business, and one of the handful of amazing talented people who formed this business in the very early days,” PLSN publisher Terry Lowe said. “He’s worked alongside of almost all the other honorees in this category, and everyone agrees he is long overdue to receive recognition for his work.”

Stickells, a 2007 lifetime achievement honoree, is now retired. The Parnelli Awards will be at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Oct. 24. More information is available at Parnelliawards.com.
