The Prodigy Announces Fall Plans
The Day Is My Enemy was released in March, marking the electronic music group’s sixth studio album and first LP in six years.
In its four-star review of the album, The Guardian writes, “The Prodigy have found their voice again and, in doing so, have actively plugged their music in to a continuum of bolshiness where punk syncs up with drum’n’bass, rock with hip-hop, dubstep with, er, psychobilly (bonus track Rise of the Eagles covers the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster).”
Liam Howlett recently talked to BBC Radio 6 about the act’s longevity and offered “six tricks to stay ahead of the rave.”
Tip No. 5 is “swap day for night.” Howlett says, “I just got bored of going to work, as in a day to day job, so I thought how can I switch it up and get the most out of myself? I started working at night time. I would go to work at 6 and leave at 5 in the morning. This unlocked a whole new part of the brain, which felt ultimately creative.”
Want a bit of insight into The Day Is My Enemy’s album artwork? Howlett says, “We’re like the fox on the cover of the new album. Y’know, we’ll sneak out, let the world be known to us and then go away.”
