U2 Pays Tribute To Sheehan

Arthur Fogel was correct in saying that U2 would play last night at the Forum in Los Angeles because their tour manager, Dennis Sheehan, would want the show to go on.  That didn’t stop the quartet from saying some words in his honor.

Bono made sure to let the crowd know how much their tour manager of 30 years meant to the band and its brotherhood (“and sisterhood now that I think about it”). He noted that Sheehan once toured with Led Zeppelin and thought U2 could one day become “the next Led Zeppelin.”

To that effect, the band once showed up at Sheehan’s birthday party dressed as Led Zeppelin, with the Edge carrying a twin-necked guitar and Larry Mullin carrying a bottle of Dom Perignon.

The full dedication was posted to YouTube by The Hollywood Reporter. Do yourself a favor and watch this but don’t go to YouTube and read the trollish comments.
