The Lone Bellow On The Road
The indie-folk act features guitarist/lead vocalist Zach Williams, guitarist/vocalist Brian Elmquist and Kanene Pipkin on mandolin, bass and vocals. In January the “Southern-born, Brooklyn-based” trio released its sophomore album, Then Came the Morning, which was produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner. The LP’s sound is described as a mix of “folk sincerity, gospel fervor, even heavy metal thunder,” with harmony singing at the band’s heart.
“The feeling I get singing with Zach and Brian is completely natural and wholly electrifying,” Kanene says. “Our voices feel like they were made to sing together.”
