Made In America – But Not In LA

Jay Z’s Made in America festival is reportedly returning to Philadelphia but not to Los Angeles.

The festival was held last year at Los Angeles’ young Grand Park but had some logistical problems, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Many balked when Mayor Eric Garcetti announced the concert with little public discussion, and it was the first major event at the intimate park, which had to accommodate 71,000 patrons, 40 food trucks, three stages, a carnival ride and other features over Labor Day weekend.

The result was “snarled food lines,” a “haphazard” layout and a “water shortage,” according to the Times.

Mary J. Blige is on board for this year’s Labor Day event in Philadelphia, with more headliners and locations expected to be announced soon.
