Norwegians Happy With City Fests

Organisers of both the city park fests that kick off the Norwegian outdoor season were happy to pull crowds averaging around 7,500 per day.

In fact the main difference between the two events, which ran in parallel in Oslo and Bergen and shared acts including Jakson Browne, Patti Smith, and Tori Amos, was the weather:

Oslo had four days of sunshine, while it was noticeably colder in Bergen. The main talking point for the Oslo crowd was when Norwegian globally-selling novelist Jo Nesbo joined Patti Smith onstage to cover The Who’s “My Generation”. Norwegian Wood was in Oslo June 10-13. Bergenfest was June 11-14.
