Boyband singer James McElvar collapsed with heat exhaustion on a flight to Glasgow after wearing several layers of clothing to avoid paying an excess baggage fee, according to The Sun.

When the 19-year-old from Scottish five-piece Rewind was told he was carrying more bags than permitted, he emptied one of them and put on all the clothes it contained – six T-shirts, four jumpers, three pairs of jeans, two pairs of sweatpants, two jackets and two hats.
“I was told I’d either have to pay a £45 fee to get on the plane, get the flight the next morning, bin the clothes or wear them,” he explained. The band announced via Twitter that McElvar had received hospital treatment and a full recovery.
