Wood Brothers Take You To ‘Paradise’

Calling it their “most rocking album to date,” Chris & Oliver fill up The Wood Brothers’ calendar with dates through December and beyond in support of the group’s new album.  Destinations include Nashville, Toronto, Philadelphia, Indianapolis and Atlanta.

Of course, stand-up bassist Chris is the Wood in Medeski Martin & Wood.  Guitarist Oliver spent many years playing in Tinsley Ellis’ band and is the founder of King Johnson.  The brothers, along with multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix, make up the trio known as Wood Brothers.

Due out Oct. 2 on Honey Jar Records/Thirty Tigers, Paradise marks a series of firsts for the band, including the trio’s first recording sessions at East Eye Sound, the Nashville recording studio owned by Black Keys guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach, and was the first time all three musicians wrote a Wood Brothers album collectively in the same room.  Paradise also marks the first time Chris played electric bass on a Wood Brothers’ recording.
