You’ll find Zombie’s nightmare at the same place as last year – Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park, Ill. – with 20 shows happening Sept. 25-Nov. 1.  Zombie performs Oct. 2 and 4.

The Nightmare has three attractions waiting for you.  No. 1 is “Captain Spaulding’s Clown School In 3D,” described as an “irreverent school of pure terror” that promises “a hallucinogenic trip through the mind of Captain Spaulding, the character from “House Of 1000 Corpses” and “The Devil’s Rejects.”

Speaking of which, “The Devil’s Rejects” is the theme of attraction no. 2 as the murderous Firefly family leaves its backwoods home to escape the long arm of the law.  “Guests will become part of the state troopers’ search and destroy mission against the Firefly family” says Zombie’s announcement.  Collectively, the Firefly family is a formidable opponent and is responsible for more than 75 murders and disappearances.

“31”  is based on Zombie’s upcoming film of the same name.  The storyline involves five carnival workers who are kidnapped and held hostage until Halloween when they are placed into the “Murder World” compound. The workers quickly discover that they are players in a game called “31” and that they need to survive the next 12 hours. Oh, and did we tell you that “31” also includes evil clowns? We thought that might get your attention.

Other attractions include the all new “Bloody Boulevard” with carnival rides, freak shows, musical entertainment and other scream-provoking delights.

“I am thrilled to be bringing The Great American Nightmare back to the Chicago area for its second year,” Zombie said.  “After last year’s overwhelming response we’ve decided to return with a completely new Nightmare.  It’s more vile and disgusting than ever.  Have fun.”

Tickets go on sale July 31 at 9 a.m. Central Time.  Tickets for Oct. 2 & 4 include Zombie’s concerts and will be available for $45.  A limited number of VIP packages will be available.  Head over to GreatAmericanNightmare.com for more information.
