2 Chainz Sued Over Video
In the complaint, Chisholm claims 2 Chainz made a video that defamed her and led to her being fired from her job at a local barber shop.
The video was shot backstage during a concert at The Fillmore in March 2014. Chisholm claims she was invited backstage by Cap 1 and was backstage for a while before 2 Chainz noticed her. He asked her who she was and why she was there. It turned out that Chisholm was invited backstage because Cap 1 thought she was someone he knew from Instagram, but she wasn’t, according to WBT-TV. In the video, 2 Chainz asks Chisholm to leave and then calls her a THOT, a slang term that means “that hoe over there.”
2 Chainz posted the video on his blog along with #IsThisYoTHOT. According to Chisholm’s lawsuit, the video got more than 80 million views and thousands of comments. Many of the comments are reportedly too vulgar to re-publish. “I can’t go in public,” Chisholm told WBT-TV. “It’s messed up my relationships. I’m not going to lie and say it hasn’t. If I’m dating a guy or something like that, and he finds out that – about what happened, then the calls stop coming in, stuff like that.” Chisholm, who is representing herself, originally filed the lawsuit in state court. Attorneys for 2 Chainz had the suit moved to federal court and have asked a judge to dismiss the case.
2 Chainz’ attorneys argued that Chisholm did not take the necessary steps to properly file the lawsuit. They also claimed that calling someone a ‘hoe’ is not defamatory because it is an opinion and not a fact that can be proven, the station said.
