Walk The Moon
The Cincinnati-based band composed of Nicholas Petricca on keyboards, Kevin Ray on bass, Eli Maiman on guitar and Sean Waugaman on drums gained attention for the catchy track “Anna Sun” from I Want! I Want! in 2010.
The current hit single, “Shut Up And Dance,” encapsulates what Walk The Moon’s mission is – to get the crowd on its feet and let their inner children be free.
Paradigm Talent Agency’s Jackie Nalpant said Walk The Moon’s live show more than made the grade early on.
“I flew to Cincinnati to see them live. It was in the early days and they hadn’t signed with
a label yet. Promoters around Ohio were talking about how great they were,” Nalpant told Pollstar. “When I saw them, their live show was infectious and their songwriting ability was pretty incredible.”
Tours with Grouplove, Panic! At The Disco, and Weezer as well as slots at festivals including Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo brought the band many new fans.
That hard work landed Walk The Moon an opening slot for The Rolling Stones at Comerica Park in Detroit playing to 36,700 this year.
Nalpant said what makes a Walk The Moon show special is how intensely the band engages with the crowd.
“They have been a solid, hardworking, touring band since 2011 and their draw has been carefully and consistently built tour after tour,” Nalpant said. “Musically and spiritually they send a message of tolerance, benevolence and kindness.
“You’re not being preached to. You’re feeling enlightened and free to be yourself.”
