Couple Sues Pyro Company
Pyro Spectaculars is being sued by a Manhattan Beach, Calif., couple that claims debris from a Hollywood Bowl fireworks show in August 2013 struck plaintiff Brian Chappel in the eye.
Brian and Marion Chappel were seated in the second row of the Hollywood Bowl’s garden boxes, left of center, when he was allegedly struck by the debris during a post-concert fireworks show.
The injury required treatment to correct damage to the eye, and resulted in permanent disability, according to the complaint.
Admiral Insurance Co. is also a defendant in the suit, which seeks unspecified past and future general, punitive and exemplary damages; compensation for loss of income, mental and emotional distress, and future medical monitoring costs; plus court costs and interest. Neither Hollywood Bowl nor the concert promoter is named in the suit.
