Full Throttle Burns Down

The Full Throttle Saloon – the Sturgis, S.D., bar memorialized on the reality television show of the same name – burned to the ground early morning Sept. 8.

The fire may have gained momentum when it struck a nearby distillery containing 500 gallons of grain alcohol, plus the cite lacked any water, which had to be trucked in and held in container tanks,

Still, it was known for its musical stages, zip lines, the Flaunt dancers and its association with Jackyl and its singer, Jesse James Dupree, who was one of the owners of the bar alongside Ballard and Ballard’s girlfriend, Angie Carlson. Ballard opened the bar after buying 30 acres of land in 1999.
