The Showboat Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., was fined $7,000 Nov. 25 for using unshuffled cards and violating money-counting room procedures.

But the university so far has not publicly named the buyer.

Stockton’s board of trustees is set to vote Wednesday afternoon on a resolution to approve the sale of the former casino, which it bought last December in the hope of converting it into a satellite campus.

Competing legal restrictions on how the property can be used scuttled the plan, as well as an effort by Stockton to then sell it to Revel owner Glenn Straub.

The resolution does not list the buyer or the sale price. University officials did not respond to requests for comment ahead of the meeting.
