George Strait’s PR team is teasing a ‘major announcement’ in an hour but with the hashtag #straittovegas already trending and a ‘Strait To Vegas’ graphic already designed and distributed, Pollstar will venture to guess that Strait is taking up a Vegas residency.
Strait and his people have always been forthcoming about the cowboy’s future. His farewell tour was just that: a cessation to touring. Strait loves live performance and it was understood that he would continue to play in front of his fans.
In fact, two years ago Pollstar asked a person in Strait’s camp if a Vegas residency was possible and the answer was, “it’s in consideration but it’s too early to tell.”
