Alexander was based in the U.K. and his death was confirmed by the U.K. Foreign Office, according to the Evening Standard. His family also issued a statement:
“It is with huge sorrow that we can confirm that our beloved Nick lost his life at the Bataclan last night. Nick was not just our brother, son and uncle, he was everyone’s best friend – generous, funny and fiercely loyal.
“Nick died doing the job he loved and we take great comfort in knowing how much he was cherished by his friends around the world. Thank you for your thoughts and respect for our family at this difficult time. Peace and light.”
Alexander worked with many bands over the years, including The Black Keys and
“Nick was not only a rock star as a human, but always impeccably dressed and looked like a rock star,” Black Keys’ tour manager Jim Runge posted to Facebook. “I remember when Zachrich Just was doing merch for the Keys one summer. He was telling me about meeting Alice In Chains’ merch guy. He said he was really nice, but that when he first met him he thought he was a member of Oasis, not a merch guy.
“I never heard Nick say a negative word, nor did he ever cause me an ounce of extra work (that’s important to us TMs).”
