Margaritaville features 350 rooms, eight bars and a spa along the Broadwalk, and is also holding onto one of the city’s relics – the iconic little Bandshell on Hollywood Beach.

The Bandshell, which will now be operated by the resort and renamed, was built in the 1970s and locals were apparently pretty persuasive when it came to saving the structure from the wrecking ball. The Bandshell played host to the Live Nation-produced Buffett concert and it was outfitted with two giant digital screens for the show, the Miami Herald reported.

The venue is expected to continue to feature local music several nights each week. The paper noted the city contributed more than $20 million to the Margaritaville project, and hopes to recoup the funds through tax revenues and a lease agreement with the resort.
