Security Breach Via Wiki
David Spargo hastily added his name to their page: “Family David Spargo.” The sloppy addition via cell phone was good enough to convince a security guard he should be allowed to the green room to meet his siblings.
The band thought it hilarious. “It was probably the most genius, mastermind move that I’ve ever witnessed” said Peking Duk’s Adam Hyde. “It’s crazy. He just did it on the spot, in a second on his phone. He told the security guard he was our stepbrother or something and showed them the Wikipedia page and his ID.” The band was a surprise guest at a launch party for Heineken’s James Bond tie-in campaign, according to the Guardian.
Even though the green room was far away from the stage because Peking Duk’s appearance was meant to be kept a secret, Spargo somehow found out. “We ended up having a bunch of beers with him and he was an absolute legend,” Hyde said. “He wasn’t a creep or anything. He was like the most normal dude we’ve ever met. That’s what makes it more hilarious.”
