X Ambassadors
“I got tipped off about them by a friend who at the time was an assistant at The Agency Group, though he did consulting on the A&R side for a label. He had heard the band’s initial EP and thought it would be right up my alley,” Galea told Pollstar. “I went back to the office, checked out the music, and immediately cold-called the manager.”
During that time the New York-based quartet of Sam Harris on vocals, guitar and saxophone, Casey Harris on keyboard, Noah Feldshuh on guitar and Adam Levin on drums had caught the ear of Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds. He heard X Ambassador’s “Unconsolable” on the radio and pitched the band to Interscope and producer Alex da Kid.
Galea said the band’s live show further convinced him there was magic being made.
“What I saw the first time I saw them live was a glimpse into the future. I knew their earliest efforts wouldn’t hold a candle to what they’d eventually come to do,” he explained.
“Even early on, they [were] just incredibly charismatic and really pulled the audience in. Sam’s an incredible frontman and as a unit, they work together perfectly as a foursome.”
Tours with Imagine Dragons, Panic! At The Disco, Jimmy Eat World and others along with EPs Love Songs Drug Songs and The Reason and debut album VHS have kept the fans coming.
“It always comes down to the live show, and over the years they have gotten exponentially better. They’re a can’t-miss live,” Galea said. “The energy, the execution, the charisma – everything is there.
“There’s a reason they sell out nearly every show they play. You just can’t miss them.”
