Kiefer Sutherland Has His Own Tour
Described as a “folk-tinged” effort, Down In The Hole has a backstory dating back to 2002 when Sutherland and his best friend/music partner Jude Cole started the small Ironworks label with the goal to record local musicians and distribute their music. The imprint hosted such acts as Rocco DeLuca and the Burden, HoneyHoney, and Billy Boy On Poison.
Although Sutherland left the label in 2009, the actor didn’t set aside his musical aspirations. Last year he played a couple of his songs for Cole, who liked what he heard. As Sutherland’s collection of songs grew Cole eventually suggested the two collaborate on an album, the end result being Down In A Hole.
“It’s the closest thing I’ve ever had to a journal or a diary,” Sutherland said. “All of these songs are pulled from my own personal experiences. There is something very satisfying about being able to look back on my own life, good times and bad, and express those sentiments in music. As much as I have enjoyed the writing and recording process, I am experiencing great joy now being able to play these songs to a live audience, which was something I hadn’t counted on.”
