Good Charlotte On The East Coast
Although Good Charlotte’s sixth full-length effort doesn’t have a release date, the band will release the LP’s first single April 4. The yet-to-be-titled album will arrive via the band’s own MDDN indie imprint, to be distributed via Kobalt.
“The new album is like our previous albums in that it’s for people who love music and are constantly motivated and trying to live a rad life,” the band said in a statement. “Everyone has something to prove to themselves, waking up every day and deciding to change their life for the better and help others to do the same. GC has always been about doing this together, motivating each other, finding the unity and energy that exists in taking life’s challenges and coming out on the other side. It’s about being inspired and excited to be both who you are and who you want to be.”
Joel and Benji Madden haven’t exactly been idle since Good Charlotte’s Cardiology album was release in 2010. The brothers served as coaches on the Australian version of “The Voice.” The brothers also wrote “Amnesia,” which was the third single released by 5 Seconds Of Summer. Evidently working with 5SOS relit their own passion for making music.
“We got the bug and the writing just started flowing,” Joel Madden said. “We worked on a few records that made us realizes it would be fun to make our own record again. There’s a certain record that only we can make; those Good Charlotte records. We got a little nostalgic and we went with our best instincts.”
