DraftKings, the L.A. Galaxy Major League Soccer team and have inked a partnership that will give the daily fantasy sports platform a highly visible presence at the Carson, Calif., stadium.

The founding-level partnership gives DraftKings not only tons of signage around the 19,400-capacity StubHub Center, but a dedicated stadium entrance and concourse location that will provide fans the opportunity to play a little game-day fantasy soccer for prizes and other goodies.

The Galaxy and DraftKings will also offer exclusive VIP experiences, cash prizes through exclusive contests and other perks. “We are very proud to partner with DraftKings and continue to enhance the LA Galaxy fan experience at StubHub Center,” said Robert Vartan, director of partnership sales for the Galaxy and AEG Global Partnerships. “This partnership will launch numerous unique and entertaining opportunities for Galaxy fans and guests at StubHub Center.”

While New York legislators have looked askance at some daily fantasy sports outfits including DraftKings, the issue of DFS sponsorships and onsite fantasy sports play isn’t one for StubHub Center or LA Galaxy officials. “Our plans all have green lights in terms of a partnership. We have a very extensive legal checks and balances, not just with our company and DraftKings, but with Major League Soccer, so it’s all been really positive,” Vartan told Pollstar. “We’re pretty sensitive to those types of risks and felt that we don’t have that issue here in California.”

As for DraftKings itself, “They have a fantasy game for major league soccer and the sport of soccer, so they have an alignment with just about every major sport. For us, it’s a promotional marketing opportunity that we can really leverage for our fans. If some are already playing [fantasy sports], we want there to be some alignment there, and that recognition for soccer at our stadium.”
