No More Concerts At Half Moon Pub

The live music area of Southwark, London’s Half Moon Pub, which has hosted U2 and The Police, will not reopen in its former capacity after having been damaged by the 2013 flood.

A spokesperson for Fuller’s, the leaseholder of the Half Moon Pub, told Southwark News that “we do understand that there are some in the local community who feel that the pub should bring back live music in dedicated surroundings.

However, we do not believe that the pub is economically viable with a strong focus on live music and we are not experts in late night entertainment.”

After the flood that hit London in August 2013, the pub was forced to temporarily close. When it became clear that Fuller’s intended to reopen, but without the music area, a campaign group was formed to get the company to change its mind.
