Culture Club Lengthens North American Stay
The new shows stretch from coast to coast, and include three shows in Mexico, in Guadalajara, Mexico City and Ensenada. The U.S. shows start in Florida in early July and work their way across the country, with most of the August shows on the West Coast. The tour wraps up with two New York shows in September.
The synth-pop/reggae specialists broke up in 1986, then reunited and performed from 1998-2002. The original quartet then went on hiatus for over a decade, and finally began touring again in 2015. The band won the Grammy Award for Best new Artist in 1984 and was influential in its musical style as well as in Boy George’s fashion sense.
The last recorded album for Culture Club was 1999’s Don’t Mind If I Do, and the band is expected to release a new album, Tribes, later this year.
