Reconstruction Goes Full Throttle
Owners Michael and Angie Ballard and partner Jesse James Dupree announced April 18 that a new facility would be built on a 600-acre grounds approximately 5 miles from the original location in Sturgis, S.D.
The original Full Throttle Saloon was a destination venue of the historic Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, an iconic gathering for enthusiasts from across the U.S.
The new location will be dubbed “The Pappy Hoel Campground” to honor the founder of the rally. Before being destroyed in a fire in September, the 30-acre Saloon was the location of a thriving reality television show and featured an indoor/outdoor bar with multiple stages, a tattoo parlor, zip lines, a wrestling ring, several restaurants and hundreds of cabins for rent.
The new campground will feature accommodations for RVs and unlimited campers. The Sturgis Rally this year will be from Aug. 5-14 and feature performances from Sevendust, Foghat, Ted Nugent, Zakk Wylde and Dupree’s band Jackyl, all at the new campgrounds.
