Knitting Factory Rolls Up Management
The restructuring includes Figure Eight Management and Yes Know Management. The move is intended to streamline the company on behalf of some 20 artists as well as facilitate the acquisition of new managers and talent, according to Knitting Factory.
Managers Ian Wheeler and Jeff Bell and their rosters including Jose Gonzalez, !!!, Wye Oak, The Juan Maclean, and High Highs will join KFM’s existing staff and artists including The Coup, Chop and Quench (aka the Fela! Band), Leyla McCalla, Radio Moscow, Prima Donna, The Knitts, The Two Tens, and Beastmaker.
KFM offices in Berkeley and Los Angeles will all report to KFM senior VP Brian Long, who will continue to work in the company’s Brooklyn, N.Y., office.
“Coming as it does during a time of prolonged expansion at Knitting Factory entertainment, it makes perfect sense to simplify our structure,” Long said. “Consolidating everything under one name helps focus attention on the artists, where it belongs.”
