Suit: Jay Z Better Have His Money
Nigerian concert promoter Chris Ubosi has filed suit in New York City accusing Jay Z and Roc Nation of canceling a 2013 Rihanna concert and failing to return a $160,000 deposit.

In court documents cited by the New York Daily News, Ubosi said he and his company worked with local concert promoters to bring the singer to Lagos, Nigeria, in May 2013. He agreed to pay $435,000 to book Rihanna for a 65-minute show at the Eko Hotel and paid $160,000 in advance.
Ubosi alleges Roc Nation postponed the show until July, and the promoter agreed on the condition the makeup date be listed in Rihanna’s tour itinerary.
When it wasn’t, Ubosi says he and his partners canceled the show “and demanded the full and prompt return of their money,” according to the Daily News.
