ORBS Orbiting Your Way Once Again

Armed with new music, ORBS is returning to the road later this month for its first tour in six years. The outing includes gigs in Charlotte, N.C.; Lancaster, Pa.; Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Providence, R.I.

The band, which describes its sound as space rock, features Dan Briggs of Between the Buried and Me, Adam Fisher of Fear Before the March of Flames, and Ashley Ellyllon, formerly of Abigail Williams and Cradle of Filth.

ORBS’ sophomore album, Past Life Regression, is due out July 15. The LP was produced by Briggs and is being released on his imprint, Hogweed & Fugue Records, via Equal Vision Records.

The band is understandably excited to show off the music live.

“Adam and I have talked about how we don’t understand how we’re going to be able to contain ourselves emotionally on stage playing these songs because they’ve been this pipe dream for us for so many years now and it’s finally really happening,” Briggs said.

Past Life Regression covers “reincarnation, death and the difficulties of living your life,” with tracks including “Death Is Imminent (However, Relative,” “Jaws on Repeat, Life on Hold,” “Exploded Birds” and “Giving Tree Hanging Me.”

“It wasn’t intentional, I think it’s just where my head was at, at the time,” Fisher explained. “The music was far darker than the last record so it was really easy to go to a dark place and touch on that stuff.”
