1LUV Promoter Making Good
The promoter for a failed festival in North Carolina that was to benefit two charities is still paying thousands out of pocket to cover bills that are owed.
The 1LUV Food and Music Festival at the WNC Agriculture Center fairgrounds, scheduled June 23-26, was canceled after two days because the attendance was too low, promoter Scott Gash told WLOS-TV.
The event, which only drew about 500 people, was to aid Homeward Bound and Brother Wolf. As of June 30 Gash told the station he owed about $2,500 to musicians including “American Idol” winner Caleb Johnson and has already paid about $12,000 to others involved with the event.
