The original 2,807-capacity theater will get an expanded lobby, stage and video-production facility in the plan, along with a second 600-seat theater, next to the original.
The nonprofit that runs the venue, Palace Performing Arts Center, is called to take ownership over the building in the new plan.
The Palace has hosted Chris Cornell, John Mellencamp, Dream Theater and Lewis Black so far this year, and is set to host 3 Doors Down, Gavin DeGraw and Andy Grammer, and
Downtown Albany is also home to a new convention center, which is set to open next year.
