Fatal Fall At Chicago Fest
A man died after plummeting two stories during Chicago Open Air Festival at Toyota Park in Bridgeview July 15.
Robert Smucz, 29, reportedly was sitting on a railing at the mezzanine level and fell to the concrete below.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died hours later from multiple injuries, according to the Chicago Tribune.
An investigation is under way. “We don’t believe this was a safety issue,” a spokesman told the paper. “We believe someone sat on a railing and you’re not supposed to sit on a railing.”
