Meghan Trainor @ Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta, Ga., Aug. 4 – “Watching Trainor perform her giddy pop songs, it’s almost as if she hails from another era, one when voluptuous women were revered and songs as airy as whipped cream ruled the charts. She even pulled out a ukulele – which shimmered to match her dress – during “Just a Friend to You” and made the uncelebrated instrument look cool.” – Melissa Ruggien / Atlanta Journal Constitution / AJC.com

KISS @ AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn., Aug. 3 – “At the end of the show, things got seriously preposterous. As the band wrapped up their anthem ‘Rock and Roll All Night,’ the pyro went absolutely bonkers, nearly becoming a straight-up fireworks display.” – Tony Bennett / Duluth News Tribune

Rachel Platten @ Celeste Center in Columbus, Ohio, Aug. 1 – “Platten was a ball of energy, beaming from ear to ear throughout the night and giving such a genuine performance. While she has pop energy, she is so much more than a pop singer, working in notes of the blues in ‘Hey Hey Hallelujah’ and a country twang for ‘Lone Ranger.’” – Caitlin Essig / the Columbus Dispatch

Guns N’ Roses @ Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La., July 31 – “This reunion tour has given Rose a new regeneration and it certainly looked good on him. He was in shape, physically and vocally, and he singed the crowd with screams that almost blew out their eardrums.” – Leslie Michele Derrough / Glide Magazine

Jerrod Niemann @ Freeborn County Fair in Albert Lea, Minn., Aug. 4 – “Niemann had a good sense of humor and humorously invited members of the audience to join the band on tour. ‘Maybe we could take you on the road with us,’ he said.” – Sam Wilmes / Albert Lea Tribune

Barbra Streisand @ Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., Aug. 2 – “Yet what separates Streisand is the way she personalizes the character of a song. Her persona assists her in drawing out the spiritual and psychological essence of lyrics. She mines herself for meaning. And her razor sharp intelligence permits no line to go unturned.” – Charles McNulty / Los Angeles Times
