Bounce Rapper Big Freedia’s Sentencing Delayed Until Aug. 25
The New Orleans Advocate reports that U.S. District Judge Lance Africk cited an unspecified court conflict in delaying the 38-year-old artist’s sentencing, originally scheduled for Thursday.
Born Freddie Ross Jr., Big Freedia pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $35,000 in federal funds and faces a maximum 10-year sentence and $250,000 fine. Last month, Africk ordered her to a halfway house after drug tests in April and May proved positive for marijuana and for both marijuana and methamphetamine use in June.

Court records show a revised federal probation report with a recommended sentence was filed Thursday. That document is under seal.
