Bill Luther Dies

Bill Luther, 89, facility manager for the city of Norfolk, Va., from 1988 to 2000, died in Spartanburg, N.C., after a years-long fight with cancer Aug. 8.  

Luther is credited with bringing the downtown Met Park baseball stadium to Norfolk, along with its team, and managing city venues like Harrison Opera House and Chrysler Hall.

Luther, along with Dick Shaff of the Moscone Center who recently passed away, are former presidents of the IAVM.
