New Scotland Festival In The Making

Ten-thousand people, two days and a range of genres – those are Craig Blyth’s plans for a new festival in the city of Dundee, Scotland, on the grounds of Camperdown Park.

If Dundee council approves the plans, the yet-unnamed festival will take place Aug. 12-13, 2017. “We would be hoping to have an answer before Christmas. However, this is dependent on us having the plans up to a standard that the emergency services and partner agencies are comfortable with,” Blyth told Pollstar. To make sure standards are met, he brought festival management company Loudsound on board, which also works with RockNess, Creamfields and British Summer Time Hyde Park among others.

Blyth is the man behind the Festival of House, which he tried to set up in Angus this year. However, police and Angus council pulled the plug last minute “on safety grounds,” as The Courier reported. This time around, Blyth will not only have the support of Loudsound, but also of the digital media agency Jigsaw, of which he is the director, to pull it off.
