Aoki previously reached a settlement with the plaintiff, Brittany Hickman, meaning that the Aug. 18 decision effectively ends the ordeal. Hickman was injured when Aoki dove onto an inflatable life raft held up by the audience during the performance.
She reportedly required serious medical care and was forced to miss work for an extended period, causing her to sue for $10.7 million.
“Steve would never want anyone to get hurt at one of his shows and is sorry Ms. Hickman did,” an Aoki representative said. “After they reached a confidential settlement, they had the chance to speak where Steve got the chance to apologize and bring closure to both parties.”
